Privacy Policy — NextCatch

Last Updated: October 23, 2026

The short version: NextCatch collects minimal data. Browsing events requires no account. Remote raid features require an account with your Pokémon GO trainer name and friend code, which are shared only with trainers you match with in raid rooms. Subscriptions are handled by Apple App Store or Google Play through RevenueCat. No ad tracking.

1. Introduction

Borrowed Fire LLC owns and operates NextCatch ("the App"). This Privacy Policy explains how NextCatch handles information on iOS, Android, and the NextCatch web raid companion.

2. Information NextCatch Collects

2.1 Information Stored on Your Device

The App stores preferences and cached data locally on your device, including app settings, cached event data for offline access, and locally cached subscription status.

Some settings may sync to the NextCatch backend when you sign in or enable server-backed features. Cached event data and local display preferences can also remain only on your device.

2.2 Account and Authentication Data

You can browse events without creating an account. If you sign in for raid coordination, syncing, or account-backed preferences, your authentication provider may share a user identifier and email address with Supabase so NextCatch can create and maintain your account. NextCatch supports Apple sign-in and Google sign-in where available.

2.3 Push Notification Token

If you enable push notifications, Apple Push Notification service or Firebase Cloud Messaging provides a device token that allows NextCatch to send notifications you requested. This token is specific to NextCatch and is deactivated or deleted when you unregister from notifications or sign out where supported.

2.4 User Preferences

When you sign in, NextCatch syncs your event alert settings, followed event types, Weekly Brief and Promo Code Alert settings, and time zone with your account to support notification delivery. Your chosen Trainer styles also sync with your account and help tailor the Weekly Brief’s For you section. These preferences contain settings only.

2.5 Trainer Profile and Raid Activity

If you use raid coordination, you create an account and provide a trainer profile: Pokémon GO trainer name, trainer code, optional team, and optional trainer level. Your trainer code is shared only with matched raid room participants through server-side functions. It is not publicly searchable.

Raid room activity, participation records, and reliability signals are used to coordinate rooms and reward reliable hosts and guests.

2.6 Privacy-Focused Analytics

NextCatch uses TelemetryDeck for aggregate, privacy-focused analytics. NextCatch does not use advertising identifiers, sell your data, or track you across apps or websites.

2.7 Subscription and Purchase Status

When you buy or restore NextCatch+, Apple App Store or Google Play processes the transaction. RevenueCat helps validate subscription status and grant NextCatch+ access. Borrowed Fire LLC does not receive your payment card number, billing address, or full store account credentials.

2.8 Raid Screenshot Verification

Hosts may choose a raid screenshot for on-device text recognition before creating a raid room. NextCatch records verification results such as detected boss name, weather boost, status, confidence, and whether the host accepted the risk. Raw screenshots are not uploaded by this verification flow.

2.9 Subscription and Free Trial Records

When you subscribe to NextCatch+, including through a free trial, RevenueCat sends subscription events to NextCatch’s servers, and NextCatch reads your current subscription status from RevenueCat using your NextCatch account ID. NextCatch keeps one current subscription record for your account: the plan (product, base plan and offer, where the store provides them), the store (App Store or Google Play), whether the current period is a free trial, the trial end date, the subscription end date, whether the subscription is set to renew, the store’s original transaction ID, and the time of the last update. Purchases made in a store’s test environment are kept in a separate record.

NextCatch uses this record to send the billing reminder described in section 2.11 and to help with subscription support. It is kept until you delete your account.

2.10 Premium Feature Usage

While you have active NextCatch+ access, NextCatch counts how often you use three NextCatch+ features: Home Screen widgets (a placed widget), premium themes (a premium theme in use), and Raid queue priority (priority applied when you join the queue or are placed in a public raid room). The record is per account and per day (UTC). It holds the feature, the date, a count, and the first and last time the feature was used that day. It does not record which widget, theme or raid room you used, and it contains no gameplay data.

NextCatch uses these counts only to respond to refund requests, to detect fraud, and to provide support. NextCatch does not send them to Apple, Google Play or RevenueCat. They are kept while you have NextCatch+ and for 90 days after your NextCatch+ access ends, then deleted automatically. They are also deleted when you delete your account.

If you ask Apple for a refund, Apple may ask RevenueCat about your purchase. RevenueCat answers with information it already has about your purchases and app sessions, such as how long you have subscribed; NextCatch's usage counts are not included. By using NextCatch+, you agree that RevenueCat may share this purchase information with Apple when Apple reviews a refund request you make.

2.11 Billing Reminder Notifications

If you start a NextCatch+ Annual free trial that is set to renew, NextCatch sends one push notification about two days before the trial ends. It states the date the trial ends and that the subscription renews unless you cancel in your store subscription settings. It does not include a price. NextCatch sends it between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. in the time zone saved with your account, and only if you have allowed notifications. Just before sending, NextCatch checks your current subscription status with RevenueCat and does not send the reminder if you have cancelled or the trial has ended.

Billing reminders are on by default. You can turn them off in the notification settings in the app. NextCatch sends the reminder to the push token your device has already registered (see section 2.3) and collects no additional data from your device for it. NextCatch also keeps a record of each reminder (the trial it relates to, whether it was sent, and when) so that the same reminder is not sent twice. This record is kept until you delete your account.

2.12 My Pokémon and Saved Screenshots

When you import a Pokémon from a screenshot, NextCatch reads the image on your device using on-device text recognition (Apple Vision on iOS, Google ML Kit on Android). NextCatch does not upload the screenshot. If you save a Pokémon from an import, NextCatch keeps a copy of the screenshot in the app’s private storage on your device so you can view it again from that Pokémon. NextCatch does not send saved screenshots to its servers or to anyone else. If you have device backups turned on, they are included in those backups, as described below.

Saved screenshots are included in your device backups. NextCatch marks them to be included in iOS device backups, whether those are stored in iCloud or on your computer. On Android, NextCatch includes them, with the saved Pokémon list stored on your device, in Android Auto Backup and device-to-device transfer. Apple or Google holds iCloud and Google backups under your device settings; a backup stored on your computer is held and managed there. NextCatch does not receive any of them. Backed-up screenshots can be restored to a reinstalled or new device. Deleting a saved Pokémon removes its screenshot from your device, and deleting your account in the app removes all saved screenshots from that device. Backups already made, including any on your computer, may still contain them. Manage them in your device settings or, for a computer backup, on that computer.

If you are signed in, the Pokémon details you save (species, form, CP, IVs, level, moves and similar details you review) are stored in your account so they sync across devices and support roster-aware Raid counters. NextCatch also stores short text fragments read from imports, limited to labels and numbers such as “CP 1234” or “HP 100”, and the name corrections you confirm, to improve recognition. They contain no image.

2.13 Live Import (Android)

On Android 14 and later, you can start Live import from My Pokémon. NextCatch then shows a button over other apps. Android asks you to let NextCatch display over other apps, and asks for screen-sharing consent each time you start a session. A notification shows while the session runs. Each time you tap the button, NextCatch captures one image of your screen and reads it on your device with Google ML Kit. It does not capture your screen between taps. The image is kept in memory only while it is read. It is never saved, uploaded, or included in backups. Nicknames, tags, catch dates and locations are ignored. Only the Pokémon details you confirm are saved, as described in section 2.12, and Live import does not store any recognition text. You can stop at any time from the button, the notification or the app, and a session stops after 10 minutes without use.

3. Information NextCatch Does Not Collect

  • Pokémon GO account credentials or login information
  • Location data
  • Advertising identifiers or cross-app tracking data
  • Contacts, messages, or browsing history outside NextCatch
  • Payment card numbers or billing credentials

4. Device Permissions

NextCatch may request notification permission for event, raid and billing reminders, calendar permission when you choose to add events to your calendar, and photo-picker access when you choose a raid screenshot for local verification or a Pokémon screenshot to import into My Pokémon. You can revoke permissions in system settings. Calendar access is used to add or manage NextCatch events you requested, not to profile your existing calendar.

Android only. Display over other apps and screen sharing: used only for Live import, when you start a session (see section 2.13).

5. Subscriptions

NextCatch+ transactions are processed by Apple through the App Store on iOS and by Google Play on Android. RevenueCat helps validate entitlements across supported platforms. Borrowed Fire LLC does not receive or store payment information, billing addresses, Apple ID credentials, or Google payment credentials.

6. Third-Party Services

NextCatch uses Supabase backend infrastructure, Apple App Store services, Google Play services, RevenueCat subscription validation, Firebase Cloud Messaging for Android push notifications, Google sign-in, Apple sign-in, and TelemetryDeck analytics. External links to official Pokémon GO pages and other community resources are governed by their own privacy policies.

7. Data Security

NextCatch uses HTTPS, platform-provided secure storage where appropriate, and backend row-level access controls. Trainer codes are returned only through server-owned participant flows.

8. Data Retention and Deletion

Deleting the app removes local cached data, including saved screenshots, from that device. Backups of your device may still contain them, whether held by Apple or Google or stored on your computer. Manage iCloud and Google backups in your device settings, and manage a computer backup on that computer. If you created a trainer profile or account-backed data, you can request deletion from the app where available or at nextcatchapp.com/account-deletion. Account deletion removes your trainer profile, trainer code, raid room participation records, reliability stats, account-linked notification tokens, subscription and free trial record, billing reminder records, premium feature usage counts, and saved Pokémon, screenshot recognition text (OCR) and name corrections, subject to limited operational or legal retention needs. Premium feature usage counts are also deleted automatically 90 days after your NextCatch+ access ends.

9. Children's Privacy

Users must be at least 13 years old to use NextCatch. Borrowed Fire LLC does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

10. International Users

NextCatch applies the same privacy standards globally: minimal data collection, no advertising tracking, and the ability to delete account-linked raid data.

11. Your Rights
